Yes, they were obviously having a bit of fun with the (horrifying) concept. The film does not involve bikini models, but it does involve a group of high school kids forced into a game of death by a demonic daruma doll. The film, based on a manga, opened in Japan this past November. No word on a Western release, but I'm sure it will turn up at some point.
